Hello, and Welcome to Essential Oils Saturday!
Essential oils are pretty common, and most people use them as perfumes. But did you know that they can be used to help treat ailments? Today, we’re going to be learning about Lavender oil. This one is one of my favorites, because - like the amethyst - its uses are versatile.
First, it’s very important to stress that you should dilute essential oils with a neutral oil such as coconut oil or olive oil. If you use essential oils straight, you could end up burning yourself, and that’s no fun at all. So always remember to practice safe essential oil use!
So some of my favorite uses for Lavender include:
When I say minor burns, I mean you gently grazed the sizzling hot skillet and get a little blister, not any major burns. Just the little ones that you usually just dab with neosporin.
You can use Lavender to stop the itching after being bit by a mosquito (or 20… ). It works! Which is awesome, because for some reason, I get eaten alive!
Seriously, just smelling Lavender is really calming for me and does a lot to help ease my anxieties.
Also, and this is very important!, Lavender oil is toxic to cats and dogs. Please do not use it on your pets. They can’t process it. You can wear it if it’s in a place that they can’t lick you. You can defuse it in a room with an open window and your pets are able to be in another room. Just please do not use it on them, on their beds, litter boxes, or on their toys!
Welcome to Angel Numbers Thursday! For this first article, I’m going to explain a little bit about what Angel Numbers are, and then we can begin to talk about our first number: 0.
So, Angel Numbers are actually numbers that your Angels, Guides, and Divines use to communicate with you. They do this by having a number or number combination appear to you repeatedly and seemingly randomly. We’ll continue to see these number messages until we finally understand the message behind the number(s). So let’s get started, shall we?
Angel Number 0 is a numerical representation of the Alpha and the Omega. Many people interpret this as “The Beginning and the End”, but it actually means “The Beginning and the Highest”. Essentially, 0 resonates with the “God Force” energy. This makes 0 a very strong number message.
If you are seeing 0 a lot, it either means that you are definitely on the right path, or that you are beginning a new path that is in your highest interest! Alternatively, it is reminding you to come back to the path you have strayed from, or perhaps even encouraging you to seek a better path.
Also, seeing 0 as your Angel Number message could be encouraging you to seek oneness or wholeness in your life. It could also be asking you to develop your spiritual practices. Set up an alter, go for a walk on the earth barefoot, pray or meditate more often, or whatever else brings you closer to feeling at one with the universe.
So if you’re seeing the number 0 a lot, don’t worry! It’s actually a really encouraging sign!
Welcome to the first Wellness Wednesday! We’ve all heard those old clichés. Drink more water. Exercise more. Go outside more.
More. More. More.
We’re subconsciously being told that we are never doing enough to be our best Selves from the media, our coworkers, friends, family, our inner voices... Let’s shift that into something more loving.
Instead of driving ourselves into the ground trying to be healthier, prettier, skinnier, or whatever. Just honor your body, honor your Self. Love yourself where you are right now.
There is nothing wrong with making self improvements so long as you’re doing it out of love for yourself. You’re going to feel much better about doing “more” if you’re doing it out of love rather than hate, anyways. Plus, the results you’re seeking will come to you much quicker if you’re enjoying the road to self improvement.
That is the number one secret to starting to call forth true health and happiness into your life. Love. Love for yourself and for others. We are more likely to cause ourselves injury if we try to improve ourselves from a place of negativity, because we live in a culture where unhappiness = punishment.
So, my Wellness Wednesday tip is to just start loving yourself. Really truly!
If you missed Mantra Monday, I encourage you to go read that post. That would be a great Self Love exercise for anyone interested
Other Self Love tips include, but aren’t limited to:
~Have that extra cup of coffee
~Eat that piece of cake
~Take a long shower
~Read that book or watch that show
~Take time for You!
Welcome to Crystals Tuesday! This week, I’m going to teach you about one of my absolute favorite crystals: Amethyst! It also happens to be my birthstone, which I feel makes it extra special for me. Not only does it have an alluring color, Amethyst is a versatile crystal since it can be used for many things such as an aide to help enhance your intuition, it can be used to help you dream more, and it can even be used as a protection crystal.
Amethyst is purple in color, and its shade varies from light lavender to a rich dark purple. This crystal is most often associated with the Crown Chakra, which is how you connect with Source - your deity(ies), Universe, or High Self. It can also be used with the Third Eye Chakra, which is associated with our intuition and most connected with our dream state. Sleeping with Amethyst under your pillow or on your night stand next to your bed will help you to have more vivid dreams and dream more often overall. For assistance in increasing your intuition, simply carry the crystal in your pocket or wear a piece of amethyst jewelry.
Because of its calming properties, this crystal is also good to carry for protection against negative or overwhelming energies; especially if you struggle with anxiety or anger. Take this crystal with you if you’re planning on going out in public spaces, whether you’re just going out shopping or going to a concert. In fact, it is because of its vibrational output that this crystal works so well for so many situation. Overall, it can be summarized as a crystal that promotes balance.
Welcome to the first Mantra Monday! We’re kicking off the new content lineup today with a brief history lesson and a new Mantra!
So the use of Mantras is actually about 3,000 years old. Mantras are used in several Eastern religions and are viewed as sacred. It’s not hard to understand why. These Mantras carry powerful intentions and help to raise your consciousness and vibrations. I also believe this helps to alter our thought patterns to become more positive. Think about it: How many times in a day do you have negative thoughts?
When using a Mala, you are saying these Mantras at least 108 times as per the number of beads on a Mala. If you do this often enough with a Mantra, you will definitely begin to rewire your brain to think differently, effectively raising your consciousness and vibrations.
What’s the significance of the number 108? Some believe that it has to do with the distance of the sun from earth. The sun’s distance from earth is 108 times its diameter. Some speculate that the number 108 is a representation of the wholeness of life. Ultimately, the specific reason for 108 remains open for speculation.
Here is the first Mantra:
Sanskrit: Aham Prema (Ah-hem Pree-mah).
This translates into “I am Divine Love”. Say this 108 times using your Mala daily for the next week to help raise your consciousness and vibrations. What I do, is I speak the Sanskrit and then the translation on each bead so I remember what the Sanskrit means. It helps me to really feel the powerful meaning behind the words and really gets my energy flowing.
I challenge you to include this in your daily practice!
Have a great day!
Reiki is a very gentle, yet powerful, healing art. A practitioner is a conduit for this energy, which flows from the practitioners hands to the intended person, place, or situation. It uses the Universal Life Force Energy that is present in every living being and throughout the whole of the Earth. Clients will have one or more experiences during a healing session involving Reiki. They may:
I began my healing journey when I finally decided that the struggles of my past could no longer keep me chained to the pain that I had grown up with. That was the year that I finally decided that I am worthy of self-love and self-respect. I was in Sedona, Arizona when I had this epiphany. It would be a few short months later that I decided to go to my first yoga class. I really stepped into my power when I started that class. I formed real and healthy bonds with those women who I now proudly call my Tribe.
